Fear, the driving force, gives directions to destinations for reasons unknown. Why does it do this to me? Why does it send me here?

I know it’s temporary, but the weight is enormous. Pushing my heart South, until it’s quivering beneath my sole. The skull, the guardian of my thoughts, can no longer contain them, as they intermittently discharge at alarming velocity. Circuits cut, shortcuts taken, and like a game of chinese whispers the meaning inevitably lost.

As the system returns to normal, and all organs recommence their jobs in an orderly fashion, the niggling remnants still knaw at the soul.
