1. Sunday – Lasherings.

With a satisfying tap the key depresses
The onscreen glyphs appear on cue
The fingers tell the mind undresses
What they type may not be true.

  2. Saturday – More Chicken.

    Little happy smile making machines
Cousins of the energizer bunny it seems
Dashing vividly from room to room
    Always ending much too soon.

  3. Friday – Yellow Red Blue.

Build them up then all fall down
    Wooden blocks approach the ground
What’s this? What’s that? Is this one round?
Colour it in, well done, all sound.

  4. Thursday – My Wallet is Light.

    Clip-clip clip-clip clip-clip clip

The sound of important women’s shoes
Striding up and down the halls
The sound of I don’t give a fuck
Bouncing off the ceiling and walls

Like a minature council worker in my ear
    Balanced precariously
As he sets to work with his jack hammer
    Just set on pestering me

It worms it’s way around my cochlear
    Like a tiny click-clacking train
And it sets to work with it’s chiseling
    Driving right into my brain

  5. Wednesday – Void.

    It’s midnight on a Saturday
The cold Winter air hugging all
Leaving red rosy cheeks on the occupants
    Of the everyday citizens ball
Some are breathing out smoke from their cigarettes
Some are breathing out fog like them too
    Some are arm-in-arm all together
They won’t let the cold make the blue
