I’m floating up, over the sounds
I’m crashing down, to meet the ground
I’m burying deep, beneath the soil
I’m resting now, no mortal coil

Remove the duvet. Shiver.
Feet touch the ground. Shiver.
Go to the bathroom. Shiver.
Get dressed quickly. Shiver.
Boil the kettle. Shiver.
Watch the steam. Shiver.
See the winter grasses gleam.

Shambling rambling gambling ambling
Angling wrangling tangling new-fan-dangiling
Dripping gripping chipping flipping
Tanting banting pranting re-flam-antiling

Chaotic perhaps but planned nonetheless
A rainbow collection of youthfulness
Balling and skinning and tekkers abound
“Stay on your feet, don’t go to ground!”

I sit and I wonder
If you and I can
Do all the wonderful things
Wrote down in our plan
Not sure we’ve the time though
Our lives are too quick
I’ll try to slow mine right down
With some fanciful trick

But no point in dreaming
I’m good at it though
You’ll never be brave enough
To get up and go
You’ll tell me you’re going to
Tomorrow for sure
Another day passes by and
Another day more

I wish you the best of
Every single thing
Look after yourself now
Stop your fidgeting
You don’t have to settle
But you have to decide
To live your life with
Pent feelings inside
